Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven AREA EMS are committed to provide safe, efficient Emergency Medical and Ambulance Transportation Services to communities throughout Schuylkill County. We have been a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation since 1947, formerly known as “The Lions Ambulance”.
Our highly trained staff, consisting of Prehospital Register Nurses, Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians, operate a minimum of three Mobile Intensive Care Units, twenty-four hours every day, from Pottsville and Schuylkill Haven. However, we can mobilize our entire fleet to meet demand or respond to unforeseen disasters.
Our services include emergency response to 911 requests; critical care transportation of patients requiring specialized facilities; specialized transportation for medical appointments and providing medical support at large community events. Thanks to our Subscribers we continue to provide low-cost; high-quality care to residents and visitors in our Emergency Service Area. In return, paid Subscribers are entitled to unlimited emergency treatment and ambulance transportation to any hospital in our coverage area.
